RCA
HydroQual is pleased to announce the release of its state-of-the-art three-dimensional generalized water quality modeling computer code entitled "RCA." RCA is available for download to interested users by registering through HydroQual's website. The software will be distributed only to registered users so that we can provide upgrades, "bug fixes", etc. to users without delay. HydroQual reserves the right to limit distribution of RCA at its sole discretion. Follow the link below to download the latest version of RCA.

RCA

Brief Description
RCA is a three-dimensional generalized water quality modeling computer code developed by HydroQual for application to marine and freshwater systems. RCA is designed to execute in conjunction with HydroQual's hydrodynamic modeling code, ECOMSED, so that output from ECOMSED model is directly linked to RCA. The two models share the same numerical grid structure and underlying numerical solution techniques.

The development of RCA has its origins in the mid-1980’s, but can trace its lineage back to the USEPA-supported water quality model WASP, which was developed in the early 1970's by HydroQual's predecessor firm, Hydroscience, Inc. RCA follows, in concept, the idea of developing problem or site-specific kinetic subroutines to address a myriad of water quality problems. The current release of RCA, available from this website, includes kinetic subroutines for pathogen modeling, eutrophication modeling, computation of residence time, and a "10s" test, which permits the user to verify the integrity of the hydrodynamic model computations. Users are also permitted to develop their own problems or site-specific kinetic subroutines.
