Water Quality Monitoring/Field Sampling Design

“When all else fails, look at the data.”

HydroQual’s 20+ years of experience serves every client in the all-important areas of field sampling program design and water quality monitoring. Field sampling programs designed by HydroQual are specific for each client’s needs. Examples include dilution studies, time of transport studies using tracers, reaeration evaluation, ammonia toxicity studies, total phosphorus evaluations, combined sewer overflow (CSO) and stormwater characterizations, receiving water studies for plant expansions and siting of new discharges, and sediment oxygen demand evaluations. HydroQual also designs field programs to collect data required to calibrate and validate water quality models of all types of waterbodies: streams, lakes, reservoirs, estuaries, harbors and coastal ocean areas. Data collection programs in support of modeling can encompass study areas from small sub-watersheds measured in acres to watersheds hundreds of square miles in size.

In addition, HydroQual can provide the type of on-going sampling and monitoring required by surface and groundwater discharge permits, groundwater quality monitoring and stormwater sampling required in permits.

The sampling for HydroQual clients is performed by full-time personnel supervised by senior field sampling and engineering managers.
